MDDE's Banks Elected to B&O Museum Board

Federalsburg, MD - The Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company is pleased to announce that President Cathrin Banks was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the BB&O Railroad Museum.

According to the Museum’s Mission Statement:

Comprised of the oldest and most comprehensive collection of railroad history in the Western Hemisphere, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum, Inc. is a unique cultural and educational asset for the city and the region. An unparalleled roster of the 19th and 20th century railroad equipment, original shop buildings, and surviving tracks at the historic Mt. Clare site provide an integrated resource to present virtually every aspect of American railroad development and its impact on our society, culture and economy.

“I’m extremely honored to serve on the B&O Railroad Museum’s Board,” Banks said. “The Museum serves a steward of railroading history, not just for the Baltimore & Ohio — the country’s oldest railroad — but for our industry as a whole. I’m proud to support the Museum’s work and their mission of preserving railroad history and bringing that history to a board public audience."

The Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company is a short line railroad with a network of approximately 120 miles, and has served freight customers on the Delmarva Peninsula for over 40 years.
